New kid on the block

Hi my name is Stephen, I’m 22 years old and live on the Gold Coast in Queensland. 

 

Since I was little, I have always wanted to be a firefighter, so when I turned 16 I joined the Queensland Rural Fire Service. 

 

Six years on and I am still in the Service and enjoy it just as much now as when I joined.

 

I am extremely proud to be a Rural Firefighter and I am also proud to be one of the new Extreme Weather Heroes.

 

 

I am looking forward to being part of a team that encourages volunteering and promotes the importance of taking care of our planet.  I see the importance of both of these every day in my role as a firefighter.

 

Now a little bit more about myself and what I enjoy doing when I’m not out fighting fires and helping my community in anyway possible. 

 

Well, I love to go motorbike riding with mates, I enjoy going surfing, going to the movies and also going to parties.  Really I just like hanging out with all my best friends.
