AAMI Handover
We all love freebies, especially when it comes to fun toys. The annual AAMI handover occurred on Monday with the Footscray Unit receiving 10 traffic wands, 4 uba backpacks & a first aid kit (which was urgently needed).
Jo, AAMI representative & Me receiving goodies
This is the 7th year that AAMI have provided equipment to all SES Units across the state. Units choose what equip they would like, from what is on offer from a AAMI catalogue. Units have a variety to choose from each year.
Jo (deputy controller) & I were excited about the quality & size of the backpacks...& so were the Unit members when we did abit of a show & tell session back at the Unit that night..... FANTASTIC!!!
Flowerdale Visit
On Sunday i drove up to Flowerdale to meet Peter Williams. Unfortunately i didn't get a chance to catch up with them, but nonetheless it was a pleasant drive. I also heard that the Major of Greensburgh was in town.
Check out the following videos from Greenburgh, love the 2nd one with the kids talking about the 'green revoluntion'!!!
Driving through Flowerdale, you couldn't even tell there had been a major fire that came through! The trees are flowering like crazy which hides alot of the burnt trees. Undergrowth is already in full force, and you can see rebuilding occurring:
I came across this sight along the Whittlesea/Yea Hwy....there were alot of little pockets of areas in Flowerdale that had already been cleared of burnt logs. Love the fire truck though!
& the good ole Hub!
